Do-it – The UK’s national volunteering database, which lists volunteering opportunities from thousands of charities and social action groups throughout the UK, from the largest household names through to small informal groups who’ve come together because they want to change something in their local area.

Hands on London – A registered charity dedicated to community-based volunteering. Its mission is to equip, motivate and inspire people to take action that changes the world.

London City Farms – A directory of farms across London, many of which rely on volunteers.

Project Dirt – This is a “doing” network, showcasing what’s happening in local communities so that people and projects can engage with each other, as well as the organisations looking to resource them.

The Conservation Volunteers – Through its own environmental projects and its network of 2,000 community groups, TCV helps hundreds of thousands of people across the UK take responsibility for their own local environments.

The Pavement – An online magazine for homeless people that has a “Services” section listing various volunteering opportunities.
